Ricardi (Ricky) Dinot, 64, passed away peacefully and entered his heavenly home on February 21, 2026. For the last year, he bravely fought Glioblastoma. Ricky’s fight was a testimony to many, for he never questioned God or asked why me. His journey through cancer mirrored his journey through life. He lived each day to the fullest, loved and cared for those around him, and trusted in God’s will.
Ricky was born on September 6, 1961 in New Orleans, LA, but resided in Baton Rouge, LA for most of his life. He graduated from Woodlawn High School and attended Nicholls State University where he played football.
Ricky was a devoted family man. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Stacy Calloway Dinot; son, Derek Shane Himel; and daughter, Kaylee Rae Dinot. Ricky’s wife and children were his pride and joy. He was devoted to providing a wonderful life for them. Ricky is also survived by a sister, Justine Dinot Bridges; brother, Paul (Papa) Alvarez; cousin Ben Saclo, who loved him as and raised him as his own, and by many nieces and nephews whom he loved and adored.
Ricky recently retired from Georgia Pacific where he was a committed employee for 25 years. Ricky’s passion was the open-water. He loved fishing and crabbing. He and Stacy shared a camp in Grand Isle-his paradise- with his “brother from another mother,” Gerry and sister-in-law, Debbie. Ricky loved music, dancing, and being the life of the party.
Ricky believed in being the hands and feet of Jesus. He had a heart for people, was a giver, and he was a servant. He was always willing to help those in need.
Ricky is preceded in death by his father, Emmett Dinot Sr; his mother, Pearl Dinot; brother, Emmett Dinot Jr.; brother, Randy Dinot; brother, Ronnie Dinot; sister, Mona Dinot Gremillion, and his Aunt Tee who loved him and raised him as her own.
Those who had the honor of knowing and loving Ricky will remember and cherish the wonderful memories we had, but we know they will not compare to the memories we will have with him in heaven. Our life on earth will never be the same, but we know we will see him again. Until then Ricky, rest easy, and enjoy your new, perfect, and beautiful eternal home. You now have a perfect body with no pain. And we know you are doing what you love, praising Jesus. We love you!
There will be a celebration of life honoring Ricky on March 13th from 4:00-9:00 PM at the Port Allen Community Center, 749 N Jefferson Ave., Port Allen, LA 70767.
