Listen to Obituary

Robert “Bob” Kent Andrepont, Sr, 65, of Denham Springs, LA, died on October 28, 2025, in Denham Springs, LA. He was born on February 14, 1960, to Margaret Elaine Bihm and Yves Clary Andrepont in Opelousas, LA.

Bob attended the University of Southwestern Louisiana (now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, or ULL) and was a member of the ROTC and the Louisiana Civil Air Patrol. He married Carrie Fager Martin on November 7, 2020, at Christ the King Lutheran Church (Kenner, LA) during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Bob’s career reflected his commitment to public service. He worked for the 2000 US Census, the Louisiana Department of Social Services, and later the Louisiana Department of Health in the Medicaid Rule-making section, retiring from LDH in October 2023.

A lifelong learner and passionate historian, Bob was an avid reader with an extensive library on military history and manned space flight. He was recognized by NASA for his research on the Apollo Program. His academic curiosity extended beyond books. Bob had a deep appreciation for cartography and spent countless hours studying maps, tracing historical campaigns, and exploring geographic detail with precision. He was an avid fan of LSU, ULL, Nebraska, and Ole Miss football, and also enjoyed playing golf. He was in the process of writing two books: one about the men who served in Easy Company of the 101st Airborne during World War II, and a children’s book featuring inspirational stories of space exploration and manned flights. Bob also believed deeply in civic involvement. He was elected and served as an Alternate Delegate to the Republican National Committee Convention in 1988 from Louisiana.

He was passionate about helping others and serving in the Lions organization. He joined the Opelousas Lions Club in January 1993 and served at the Club, District, and Multiple District Levels, including as District Governor for District 8-O (Acadiana area) for 2005-2006 (where he helped secure over $250,000 in grants for the district), and as State (MD8) Convention Chair in 2006. He transferred his membership to the Livingston Parish Lions Club in June 2025 after his term as Guiding Lion ended. He was an active member of the state projects: the Louisiana Lions Eye Foundation and the Louisiana Lions Camp, where he held various positions over the years. He was a member of Lions Club International's Melvin Jones Fellowship, a Certified Guiding Lion, and a graduate of the LCI Faculty Development Institute.

Bob is survived by wife of five years Carrie Fager Andrepont, son Robert “Robby” Kent Andrepont Jr., his brother Alan Andrepont, his sisters-in-law Tonya Vicknair Andrepont and Christine Fager Trepagnier, his nieces Blair Andrepont Miller (and her husband Gunter Miller), Payton Noel Trepagnier, his nephews Jason Patrick Andrepont (and his wife Kelsey Baggert Andrepont), and Michael Taylor Trepagnier.
