Robert Bruce Benton

Robert Bruce Benton passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2026. He was 75 years old, born on January 18,1951 and a native of Denham Springs, Louisiana. He is survived by his mother, Mary Ann Benton; brother, Jim Benton and wife Jan; niece, Hillary Green and husband Tyson; nephew, Brian Benton and wife Meghan; and great nephews, Jackson Green, Finley Green, Abram Green and great niece, Kiki Green and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Robert Berlin “Tut” Benton.

Bruce was a graduate of Denham Springs High School Class of 1969 and attended Southeastern Louisiana University. He lived his life to the fullest. He worked for the State of Louisiana as a draftsman and also worked overseas with the Bechtel Corporation. Bruce was very creative and demonstrated his creativity in the costumes he designed for the Governor’s Ball throughout the years. He loved to travel, loved books, and loved to collect unique art.

Bruce’s life will be celebrated privately according to his wishes. In lieu of flowers, contributions to honor his memory may be made to the Companion Animal Alliance (CCA) of Baton Rouge.
