Rob ert E. ( “ Rob ” ) Berry, Jr. , born Augu st 15, 1 974 , passed away on the morning o f May 21, 2024 , at Lane Re gi onal Medical Center. A loving fat her, son , brother, uncle, and friend, Rob was 4 9 year s old.
He is survived by his son, Marcelo Rodriguez; parents , Robert E. ( “ Eddie ” ) Berry , Sr . and Helen Dykes Berry ; special sign ificant other , Ginger Johns ; sister and bro ther-in-law , Christy and Gene Thomas; brother and sister-i n-law , Tommy and Alecia Berry; ne phew , Chase Thomas and wife Sara; n iece , Paige T homas P ierce and husband Ben ton; n ephew , Tucker Berry ; and uncle , Rick Berry and wife Wendy ; along with many other family members and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents , Lawrence and Ru th Berry and Sydney and Juan ice Dykes, as well as his u n cle , Eug ene Dy kes.
Rob loved and lived life to the fullest. H e was the best craw fish boiler and was never afraid to add “ whatever ” to the pot . He was very talented and a hard worker , and he never backed down in the face of adver sity. He enjoyed fre quent trips to New Orleans and embraced all the city had to offer , from small local b usinesses , a para de or two , or just spending the day exploring som e thing new and different. H e loved his f amily and fri ends and would try his best to do anything he could to help those who needed him . Able to fix just about anything and always pidd ling with his “ toys, ” Rob never met a set of speakers he didn ’ t like and could often be found s witching out something in some car or truck or anyt hing else mechanical .
A C elebration of Life will be held at a later date yet to be determined . The family wishes to t hank everyone who has reached out and for the continued support. We know Rob is at peace and with his PawPaw and his Granny whom he loved so muc h.
