Robert B. Hancock

d. June 9, 2025

01/19/1950 – 06/09/2025

Robert Byron Hancock, born January 19, 1950, passed peacefully in his sleep on Monday, June 9, 2025, at the age of 75. Robbie transitioned from his earthly body to his heavenly one at the home he grew up in on Bend Road in Watson, Louisiana.

He was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. A lifelong resident of Watson, he graduated from Live Oak High School in 1970. From there, he enlisted in the army, where he served for a year before being honorably discharged due to family hardship. Both in childhood and in adulthood, Robbie could be found in the woods. A proficient fisherman and hunter, Robbie spent much of his life outdoors. By profession, he worked as a Nuisance Control Officer, working both under the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries. In his leisure, Robbie often traveled to hunt and fish with his brother, Johnny. Although he preferred to listen rather than talk, he had a quiet sense of humor and would laugh easily about various mishaps and woes gathered along hunting and fishing adventures.

He is survived by his sister-in-law, Marci Hancock, niece Sarah Hancock Easterly (John W. Easterly, Jr.), great-nephews Kevin Musgrove and Isaac Easterly, great-nieces Lark Easterly, Laurel Easterly and Lillian Easterly. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert (Donald) Hancock and Annie Mae Cambre Hancock, and brother John Hancock.

Visitation is at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs, Louisiana, on Wednesday, June 18 from 9:00am – 11:00am with his Celebration of Life service starting at 11:00am in the Chapel. There will be a reception to follow at 34890 LA-16, Denham Springs, LA 70706, Live Oak Church in Watson, LA, at the Family Life Center. Private burial to occur at a later date.

In Lieu of Flowers please send donations to Missions at Live Oak Church, Watson, LA. Special Thanks to Rev. Stephen Hebert – Associate Pastor, Hospice Nurse and dear friend; and his compassionate caregivers, Wondia Varnado, Patsy Landry, Latrice Landry and Michelle Butler.
