Robert James Timby, born on October 19, 1940, in Abington, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026. He was a dedicated professional, having built a career as both a mechanic and a truck driver. Robert was proud to be a member of the Local Union 406, where he forged lasting friendships and connections throughout his working life.

For 63 incredible years, Robert shared his life with his beloved wife, Joyce Kohler Timby. Together, they raised a loving family, including their daughters, Joyce Manuel (Anthony) and Debby Saucier (Wilton), and their sons, Robert James (Norma) and William Timby (Katie). Robert's legacy will live on through his cherished grandchildren: Robert James Timby V, Jesus William Timby, Jennifer Michelle Shepard (Dylan), James Anthony Fillingame (Maycy), Cynthia Renee Timby (Josh), Lillian Amanda Timby (Jacob), Andrew Manuel, Michelle Manuel, Joseph Manuel (Hannah), Kristine Guidroz (Dave), Christopher Saucier, Justin Saucier, and William Saucier (Michelle). His family was also blessed with several great-grandchildren, including Brandon Smith, Shaunn Guidroz, Connor James Fillingame, Evelyn Grace Vogle, along with William, Johnathan, and Lizzia Saucier, Isaac Shepard, Jonah Fillingame, Carson Fillingame, Josephine Easley, and Luca Easley. Additionally, Robert welcomed step-grandchildren, Mason Dominick and Maddie Dominick, into his heart and family.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Robert had a passion for trains, enjoyed riding his Harley and scooter, and found joy in the simple pleasures of life. His pursuits brought him much happiness and served as a reflection of the adventurous spirit he embodied.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Irene Timby, his brother, William Homes Timby and his step-granddaughter, Kristen Saucier.

Robert James Timby will be remembered as a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, and a reliable friend. His spirit and contributions to his family and community will endure in the hearts of all who knew him.

A celebration of life for family and close friends will take place on March 28 at 1:00 PM at 13176 Booker Cemetery LN. Clinton, LA 70722.
