Listen to Obituary

Roger Dale Martin, known for his kindness and genuine nature, went to his eternal rest on January 19, 2026. Born on March 6, 1946, in the East Texas town of Center, he made his home in Louisiana for much of his life but remained a proud Texan at heart.

Roger did not hold advanced degrees, but he was a well-traveled “renaissance man” who possessed a deep knowledge of history, politics, science, and the natural world that would rival any academic. More importantly, Roger was a man of great integrity. He loved Jesus and his faith was reflected in the gentle and thoughtful ways he cared for his family, his work friends and his faith family at Montpelier Baptist Church.

A resident of Greensburg, Louisiana Roger was a gifted industrial draftsman and piping designer. He worked at numerous engineering and manufacturing companies throughout his career. He most recently retired from Deltak Manufacturing.

The son of the late Thelma Oates Hughes and Clifford C. Martin, Roger graduated from Center High School in 1965. On February 12, 1966, he married the love of his life, Anna Jane Rivet Martin. They were married for 45 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his beloved wife.

Roger is survived by his sister, JoAnn Martin Creel Cameron, brother, James Curtis Martin, and his brother-in-law, JC Rivet. He is also survived by his nieces Henrietta Creel Thompson, Carrie Cameron, and Stacy Furlow Green; nephews Joel Creel, Michael Furlow, Chris Furlow, Jason Rivet, Jonathan Rivet, Danny Rivet, and Donnie Rivet; as well as numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs, Louisiana from 10:00 AM until Noon with a memorial service in his honor at Noon.
