On Sunday, April 26, 2026, Roger Dennis Taylor, passed away peacefully at the age of 82. Roger was born July 23, 1943, in Foxworth, Mississippi. Roger married his high school sweetheart in December 1962. He was a United States Army Veteran and served as a Personnel Management Specialist during the Vietnam War. He worked 30 plus years at Pioneer (Olin) Chlor Alkali and retired as Safety Manager. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and always had her by his side for life’s many adventures. He was an avid golfer, hunter, fisherman, pool player, and so much more. He had a strong sense of humor and is remembered for his many jokes. Above all, Roger’s greatest accomplishment was his family, whom he loved unconditionally. He was always the first one to show up for an event and never missed a ball game, swim meet, cheer competition, graduation, or any reason to cheer on his family. To quote his oldest grandson, Roger was never selfish in his hobbies and always wanted to include his family in all he was passionate about.
He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of almost 64 years, Dorothy Whigham Taylor; brothers, Arnold (Lavina) and Charles (Patty) Taylor; sister, Cherie Powell; half-brother, Larry Randall; children, Wendi Taylor Gautreaux (John Calloway) and Justin “Dennis” Taylor; grandchildren, Taylor and Cameron (Jaime) Gautreaux, Justin Taylor II, Chandler (Tyler) Brown, and Karli (Ladd) Daigle; great-grandchildren, Kalyn, Lucas, Harper, and Sawyer Gautreaux, Avery McClendon, Waylon Taylor Sanchez, Ada and Jonah Brown, Linnon and Haddie Daigle, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer M. Taylor and Ettress Rushing Randall, his stepfather, EJ Randall, and his brother-in-law, Lloyd Powell.
Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, on Friday, May 8, from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Burial with Army Honors will follow immediately in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Dennis and Justin Taylor, Taylor and Cameron Gautreaux, Tyler Brown, and Ladd Daigle.
