Rose Taravella Shepherd

Rose T. Shepherd, resident of Holden, passed at the age of 70 on August 25, 2026. She was born to her parents Joseph Taravella and Helen Howard Taravella in Monroe, LA on December 16, 1955. She retired from the 9th Judicial District courthouse after 30 years of dedicated employment. In her free time, Rose enjoyed working with her hands, either gardening or quilting. However, she was happiest when spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rose lived a life surrounded by love, her care spreading to those lucky enough to care for her. She will be dearly missed by those she leaves behind.

She is survived by her sons Jason Walker and Jeremiah Walker, daughter Michska Walker, grandchildren Paris, Diamond, Romin, Presley, Norway, and John, great-grandchildren Madalynn and Maelynn, sister Mary Cox, brothers Joseph Taravella Jr., Joseph Taravella III, Anthony Taravella, and Joe Lee Taravella, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in passing by her father Joseph B. Taravella Sr., mother Helen Howard Taravella, and sister Patricia Simmons.
