Rosemary Patchen

Rosemary Patchen, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2026, at the age of 74, surrounded by family. Known to so many as “Nonna,” she welcomed others with a genuine warmth and loving spirit that made them feel like family.

 Rosemary met Patrick Patchen, the love of her life, when they were just 12 years old and in seventh grade. They went on to share 55 years of marriage. Her family was her greatest joy. She was a devoted mother to her three daughters, Renee Laird, Jennifer Miller, and Elizabeth Harman, and a loving Nonna to Brianna Laird, Brock Laird, Grayson Harman, and Reese Harman. She is also survived by her brother, William Hewitt.

 Caring for children came naturally to Rosemary, both at home and in the classroom. She spent 25 years teaching in Livingston Parish, primarily as a middle school science teacher. Her love of teaching touched the lives of countless students. In retirement, she enjoyed spending time with family, traveling, listening to Joyce Meyer’s devotions, and, of course, shopping on QVC.

 Her passing leaves us heartbroken, but we rejoice in knowing that her love and legacy will live on whenever we are together, doing what we do best. 

Visitation will be held Saturday, October 3, 2026, at First Baptist Church of Denham Springs, 27735 LA Highway 16, Denham Springs, LA 70726, from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service at noon in the sanctuary. A private burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park in Denham Springs. 

Pallbearers will be Jeff Harman, Grayson Harman, Brad Laird, Brock Laird, Nathan Moyle, and Baron Anderson. Flowers may be sent to First Baptist Church of Denham Springs at the address above.
