Roy Dugas, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Roy was born on July 1, 1941 “a true Cajun” from Duson LA.
A carpenter by trade. He was a kind and dedicated man with a wonderful sense of humor who loved the Lord, his family, fishing, cooking, Walker Texas Ranger, LSU Football and his Cajun heritage.
He is preceded in death by his Mother, Father, 6 sisters, and 3 brothers.
Roy is survived by his wife of 62 years, Virginia “Ginger” Dugas; 3 Children and their spouses, Ronnie Dugas spouse Magdalen “Lynn” Dugas, Shawn Dugas, April Pierrotti and spouse Jason Pierrotti; 2 sisters, Betty and spouse Walton Martin, and Joyce Broussard; niece Becky Daniel raised by Roy and Ginger and spouse Larry Daniel; 6 grandchildren Avarie Dugas, Cassie Troxclair, Mat Dugas, Melodie Bergeron, Micah Dugas, Raven Campbell and Nephew Jessie Whittington and spouse Amillia; 8 great grandchildren; and 1 great niece.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to The Crossing at Clarity Hospice for their special care in Roy's final days.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at 865 Hatchell Ln., Denham Springs, LA 70726, on Friday, August 7, 2026 from 10:00 AM until mass of Christian burial at 12:00 PM. The graveside service and burial will follow at Evergreen memorial Park, in Denham Springs, Louisiana.
