Roy Lynn White, or "Pop" as his family called him, passed away on August 14, 2025, at his home in Walker, Louisiana. Born on April 11, 1946, in Crystal Springs, Mississippi, Roy lived a full, rich 79 years.
Roy is survived by his devoted wife, Genny White, of 50 years; his son, Roy Glenn White; and daughter Kristen White. He was the proud grandfather of Chelsey (Dylan) Winston and Lane White, and the great-grandfather of Gage Ballard (10) and Avery Winston(3). He is also survived by his brothers, Harold (Jody) White, Luther (Frances) White, Billy (Becky) White, and Randy White; his
brother-in-law, James Myler; sisters-in-law, Katy Wells and Paula Reese; along with many nieces, nephews, and countless friends who loved him.
Preceding him in death were his parents; Sebron White and Christine White Cain; brothers, Sammy White and Jimmy White; and his sister, Francis McClendon.
A proud Navy veteran, Roy served aboard the USS Kitty Hawk, where he was stationed in Vietnam for a period. After his time in the military, he worked for many years in Louisiana's chemical industry, where he held roles as a foreman, welder, and planner/scheduler. His expertise and hard work made him a respected figure in his field. In his retirement, he and his wife spent time working together as crossing guards in Livingston Parish, where they enjoyed being involved in the community.
He didn't seek the spotlight, but Roy's steady presence and quiet strength made him a backbone of his family. He wasn't the type to walk into a room and demand attention, but when he spoke, everyone listened, and more often than not, it was followed by a laugh. Whether it was a perfectly timed comment or just a look, Pop always knew how to lighten the mood.
A rock in our family, Pop was someone we all depended on, showing us what it meant to love unconditionally. He lived his life with a deep faith in God and an unwavering commitment to his family. He cherished time spent with his great-grandkids, finding joy in even the smallest moments with them. And while he wasn't one to be overly loud or flashy, his love, laughter, and support were felt by everyone who knew him.
As we say goodbye for now, we're left with countless memories, the quiet moments, the shared jokes, the wisdom, and the love he always showed. We will carry these memories with us and keep his spirit alive until we see him again.
We love you the most, Pop.
