Russell Joseph Aydell, Sr.

Russell Joseph Aydell, Sr., 76, a life long resident of French Settlement, passed away September 14, 2024 at his home. He served his country in the United States Army and worked for many years as a pressman for the State Times/Baton Rouge Advocate. He was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, brother and friend and will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his children, Tonya Lynne Aydell, Russell Joseph Aydell Jr. (Angelle), and Berlin Michael Aydell; sister, Annette Aydell Simoneaux (Mac); brother, John Dale Aydell (Sandi); sister-in-law, Leverne Aydell; former sister-in-law, Sondra Lambert; grandchildren, Felicia Simoneaux, Ellis Willie IV, Kelsey Willie, and Russell Joseph Aydell III; great-grandchildren, Jace and Abel; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends and hunting club buddies.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Berlin Paul Aydell Sr and Leola Aydell Aydell ; siblings, Berlin Paul Aydell, Judy Aydell Ponthieux, Carol Aydell Jolly, and Billy Aydell; former wife, Margie Lee Miller Aydell ; and grandson, Brandan Aydell .
