Sandra H Porche

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sandra Henderson Stewart Porche, age 75, on June 7, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Sandra was admired and beloved as a mother, grandmother, and, most importantly, a faithful servant of Christ. Sandra was able to witness to all at her bedside about the extraordinary and eternal, everlasting love of God, even in her last days. She promised to always be with her children and that she had never been happier and was already with God in heaven days before her last breaths on earth. This is just a small example of who our mom was.

This world truly lost one of the best with her passing.

Sandra was a beautician, owning her own business in St. Bernard for over 30 years before Hurricane Katrina. Sandra was also the co-owner for over 30 years of Weddings Plus, which later relocated to Livingston Parish as Ashley Renee Bridal. What started as a small wedding store in a living room in Chalmette turned into one of the most iconic bridal stores across the State of Louisiana and beyond. Their legacy was not about selling dresses; it was about ‘serving’ others, and that mission remains true to this day with our still-family-owned business, now named Belle Sorelle Bridal, as a tribute to two beautiful sisters, Sandra and Wanda.

Sandra’s legacy will forever be felt in our lives. Her kindness, her generosity, her faith, and her strength will continue to inspire all those who were honored enough to know her.

Sandra is survived by her brothers, Lyndell (Kaye) and Olen Henderson (Geraldine); her children, Stacy Stewart (Marsha), Kelly Theard (Mark), and son Gregory Porche; along with her grandchildren, Joshua Theard (Annie) and Alaina Theard Doyle (Zachary). Also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews.

Preceded in death by her husband, Gregory Porche; sister, Wanda Ruiz; and her parents, Muriel and Leonard Henderson, as well as her first husband, Dennis Stewart.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to join the family on Sunday, June 14, 2026 at Pine Grove Baptist Church, Bayou Barbary for a visitation starting at 2:00 PM until the funeral service at 4:00 PM conducted by Brother Paul Taylor and Pastor Jim Richardson. Graveside service will follow at the church cemetery.
