Sidney B. Covington, Jr.

Sidney Bridges Covington, Jr., passed away Monday, August 24, 2026, at the age of 78. He was a retired insulator with Basic, Inc. He was a resident of Easleyville and a native of Walker, LA. Sidney was a United States Navy veteran, who served in the Vietnam War. Sidney also loved hunting and was a member of the Turkey Creek Hunting Club, where he served as a board member for the past thirty-five plus years.

Sidney is survived by his wife, Shirley Ann Hood Covington; two sons: Billy Ray Covington and Jamey Glen Covington, along with his wife, Brandi Lea Patterson Covington; three grandchildren: Jacey Covington Partain, and her husband, Blake Partain, My-Kel Lucas Patterson, and Katherine Marie Pardue; and three great-grandchildren: Madilynn Claire Partain, Ellie Kate Partain, and Bennett Chase Partain.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Sidney Bridges “Bill” Covington, Sr. and Audrey Verna Bendily Covington; one sister and brother-in-law: Julia Dale Covington Nevels and her husband Alton David “Slim” Nevels, Sr.; a brother: Kerry Lane “KC” Covington; and three infants: Beverly Jean Covington, Judy Carolyn Covington, and Infant Son Covington.

Seale Funeral Service was entrusted with final arrangements. Thursday, August 27, 2026, visitation will take place at the funeral home from 6:00PM until 8:00PM. Friday, August 28, 2026, visitation will resume in the chapel at 9:00AM until time of service at 10:00AM. Interment will immediately follow the service at Vickers Cemetery in Walker, LA. Military Honors will be rendered at graveside.
