Steven Arthur Overlease

Steve Arthur Overlease passed at the age of 69 on November 20, 2025. Resident of Greenwell Springs, Louisiana, he was born on August 27, 1956 at Tachikawa Air Base in Tokyo, Japan. After graduating from high school, he worked as a regional manager of IES. He enjoyed the freedom his Harleys gave him, RV camping, and spending time with his granddaughters. He will be dearly missed by those that had the privilege to love and know him.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years Rebecca “Becky Lou” Jones Overlease if only for a day, parents Marie and Harold Boozer, son Matthew Overlease (Julia), grandchildren Makenna Overlease and Josephine Overlease, brother David Hartsell (Pam), brother-in-law Robert Lewis Jones Jr. (Laura), nieces Autumn Hartsell-Moreland, Elizabeth Ashley Hartsell, and Jennifer Prewitt (Robert), nephew Jim Montgomery, and a special person who knows they were loved.

He is preceded in death by his dad Claude Overlease, mom Dorothy Overlease, and big sister and protector Patti Carrol.

Pallbearers will be Chris Castel, Daren Burns, David Fish, Jim Montgomery, Robert Lewis “Les” Jones III, and Wesley Carroll.

The family wishes to give a special thank you to OLOL Oncology Group (Dr. Ozair), Amedisys Home Health (Devin and Megan), Amedisys Hospice (Kevin and Angela), Dr. Chadwick Soileau, and all the people that helped them with their peace.

A visitation for both Steve and Becky Overlease will be held at Seale Funeral Home on Saturday, November 29th from 10:00am to 12:00pm with a funeral service starting at 12:00pm. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
