Stuart William Duke, age 62, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2026. He was born on October 4, 1963, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and spent most of his life in his hometown before moving to Butte LaRose, Louisiana, about ten years ago. Stuart was a graduate of Belaire High School and attended Southeastern Louisiana University. After spending several years working in construction throughout the United States, he returned home to Baton Rouge and began a lifelong career in the chemical manufacturing industry, specifically at both Formosa Plastics and Shintech.

Above all else, Stuart's greatest love and source of pride were his two sons, William Sidney Duke and Zachary Stuart Duke. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, such as fishing, spending peaceful hours on the water, and tending his garden. He was known for his playful spirit, quick wit, and wonderful sense of humor. Whether sharing a joke, telling a story, or simply enjoying the company of friends and family, Stuart was often the life of the party.

He is survived by his beloved sons, William Duke and Zachary Duke, and their mother, Anne Church; his father, Alton Eugene Duke; his brothers, Stacy Duke and his wife Rickie, and Steve Duke and his wife Barbara; his nieces and nephew, Taylor Deutsch and her husband Carter, Leighton Duke, Hunter Duke, Haley Babb and her husband J.D., Heather Pocic and her husband Ethan, and Hannah Greer and her husband Austin; along with his great-nieces and great-nephews. Stuart is also survived by his chocolate lab, Charlie.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sylvia Sullivan Duke.
