Sylvia Covington Thompson

Sylvia Covington Thompson, 77, passed peacefully on February 6 ^th , 2025 at 1:30 a.m. Sylvia was a native of Baton Rouge and a resident of Denham Springs, LA. She loved to be outside working or in the kitchen cooking and when it was time to relax, her best friend-dog, Tazz was right there to snuggle. Sylvia was a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, and friend and she will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Donald Thompson; daughter, DeShea Westbrook-Pinell; stepdaughter, Tiffany Sassanella, and husband, Justin; stepson, Jason Phillips and wife, Kristi; grandchildren, Paige Coxe and Lawson Pinell; step-grandchildren, Jordan Jacob Phillips, Lyric Sassanella, and Ty Sassanella; greatgrandchildren, Kynleigh Peyton Temple and Karson Kye Pinell; sisters, Debra Covington Magee and husband, Dennis; brothers, L. Gene Erwin and wife, Deloris, and Richard Covington; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sons, Page Westbrook and Jason Westbrook, stepson, Ty Thompson; parents, Eldon Covington and Estelle Ballard Covington; sister, Sherry Covington Bass; and brother, Freedy Joe Covington.

Visitation will be held at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, Monday, February 10, from 9 a.m. until service at 12 p.m. with burial to follow at Vickers Cemetery, Walker, LA. Pallbearers will be Randal Pinell, Lawson Pinell, Jason Phillips, Kane Finley, and Peyton Temple.
