Trudy Ann Weaver, a woman of profound faith and a devoted cornerstone of her family, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her loved ones, on February 15, 2026. She was 66 years old.
Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, on July 25, 1959.
Trudy’s life was defined first and foremost by her unwavering devotion to God. Before she was a daughter, mother, grandmother, or wife, she took great ownership in being a steward for Christ. This spiritual foundation was rooted in every aspect of her character and informed every decision of her life.
Trudy believed that her life was not her own, but a vessel for the Lord’s work. There was no occasion too joyous, nor any problem too great or small, for which she could not find the perfect prayer. Her capacity to love was matched only by this faith; she lived with the conviction that to love her family was the highest calling one could answer.
She was the cherished wife of Larry Weaver, with whom she shared a bond of deep sanctity and tireless devotion. Their marriage was nurtured in the quiet moments—the endless hours spent on the phone, discussing the many things privy only to the two of them within the safety of their marital bond. Together, they found peace in the simplicities of nature during their trips to Arkansas, where they spent their days trail walking and their evenings enjoying dinner shows, simply happy to be in each other's company.
As a mother to her two sons, Shane and Chad Penney, she provided a legacy of strength, spiritual guidance, and unconditional kindness. Her greatest joy was found in her role as "Grandmother" to her six beautiful grandchildren: Parker Penney, Olyna Zapata, Madeline Penney, Carlie Penney, Dean Penney, and Brody Rainey.
Trudy took tremendous satisfaction in her crafts—a hobby she used as a vessel for fellowship. Her craft table was a place of connection, teaching, and storytelling. It was here that she fostered a particularly close and cherished relationship with her niece, Priscilla Billiot, sharing time and creativity that became a centerpiece of their bond. One visit to Trudy's home made it immediately evident that her heart was shared generously with everyone she knew as a reflection of her love for others.
Trudy is survived by her mother, Pauline Billiot; her husband, Larry Weaver; her sons, Shane and Chad Penney; daughter-in-law Toni Penney; daughter-in-law, Laurel Cotton; son-in-law, Shi Cotton; step-son Isaiah Weaver; her sisters, Evelyn and Loretta; and her brothers, Mark and Stanley Billiot. She also leaves behind her niece, Priscilla Billiot, her nine beloved grandchildren, Parker Penney, Olyna Zapata, Madeline Penney, Dean Penney, Carlie Penney, Isaiah Weaver, Alayna Cotton, A’Shyra Cotton, and Aztyn Cotton; and a host of extended family and friends who were strengthened by her prayers and transformed by her love.
She was preceded in death by her father, Stanley Billiot, and her beloved sister, Patricia Billiot.
In honor of the prayerful life Trudy led, the family shares the words she held so dear:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever.
