Verna Holland Hodges

I want to share about the life of my sister, Verna Mae Holland Hodges, who passed from this life on December 23, 2025. She shared a wonderful life of marriage with her husband, Leroy Hodges, who passed years before her. Verna was born on June 6, 1938 in Walker, Louisiana and lived out her life in the Baton Rouge area. She was born into the family of Clifford and Lida Holland, raised on North Walker Road, with Joy, Jackie, Lane and myself. I am Cliff (Rusty), the youngest of the family. Leroy's family loved Verna and of you living, I want you to know that Verna deeply loved Leroy and she told me many stories about visits with and from his wonderful family.

Lane and I have now seen our 3 older sisters along with our mom and dad pass on from this life into death. In our faith of that not seen, only the dead can speak of that place hoped for. Our family was raised in the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy words as written in The Holy Bible. Our father and our mother both shared faith in Jesus Christ with all 5 children. What a blessing to be raised in a household of love and faith. Verna talked of her faith and not long ago Lane and I talked to her of the truth of what doctors had spoken into us about her illness that would take her life. Verna had a fullness in faith to see her loved ones again in the coming days and she was calm about that fact. Our prayer was that she would pass in peace and she did.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, Louisiana. Visitation begin at 1:00 PM until Service time at 3:00 PM.
