Vickie "Wendy" Gayle Davis, a cherished member of the community, passed away on April 11, 2026, in Walker. Wendy’s life was marked by a deep commitment to others and a generous spirit that touched many.
Wendy was proud graduate of Walker High School and Denham Springs Beauty College. She worked for many years in the Livingston Parish School System before retiring. She adored her work and it reflected her natural ability to nurture and care for those around her, qualities that defined her both professionally and personally. Wendy’s warm personality and willingness to help others made her a beloved friend, family member and coworker. She was known for her kindness and the genuine love she showed to everyone she met. These traits, combined with her faith, guided her through life. She was a faithful member of New Beginnings Baptist Church in Walker where she found joy in listening to the word of God and cherishing the fellowship with her church community. Her passing marks the loss of a woman whose life was defined by compassion and faith. Wendy will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched. Her spirit of love and friendship will resonate in the hearts of family, friends, and community members for many years to come.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Reggie Davis; her son, Charles David Gunter; her grandchild, Ellis Davis; brothers, Roger Dunlap and his wife Janice, Jimmy Dunlap, and Michael Dunlap. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a wide network of friends who will miss her dearly.
Wendy was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Jessie Mae Dunlap; her stepmother, Doris Dunlap; her brother, Larry Dunlap; and two sisters-in-law, Iva Dunlap and Diane Dunlap.
Services will take place at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs on Friday, April 17, 2026 with visitation from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM and service beginning at 2:00 PM. Burial will immediately follow in Judson Baptist Church Cemetery.
