Wayne did not go by his first name, Vincent. Wayne was a quiet, soft-spoken guy with a gentle demeanor, a Superman's incredible inner strength, an admirable depth of well-honed wisdom about the human condition, a generous-to-a-fault nature, and a phenomenal ability to rise to any occasion with just-the-right response. He was from a large family and his still-living relatives will miss him dearly, as will his wife's family.

Wayne's first duties in the Air Force saw him already bearing the responsibility of a dorm leader, ensuring that all roommates' beds were made up perfectly, bath areas were pristine, dressing areas tidy to a "". He was also trusted to drive his commanding officer on secret missions to pick up the officer's favorite beverage-moonshine! An unforgettable part of his service to his country was being sent to Florida in the early 60's during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was a real actor in these scenes of God's blessing America with men willing to give their lives for our country.

His wife Kathy always thought Wayne looked like Pernell Roberts, the actor who played Adam on the popular TV program Bonanza from the late 50's to the 70's. She loved basking in his reference to her as an Audrey Hepburn look-alike and will always smile at the memory.

This story would not be complete without the mention of Wayne's love of gardening. He was able to grow the most delicious fruit and vegetables and was delighted to share his bounty with family, friends, neighbors and anyone passing by our house.

Wayne and his wife have suffered the tragic loss of their two sons, Chris and Keith. Daughter Cynthia remains a constant in Kathy's life. They share memories of the whole family's summer vacations, of picnics in the park and swimming at the beach, Cynthia's violin performances, Chris's and Keith's ball games. Wayne and Kathy have loved, too, every moment of sharing in the lives of their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Kathy certainly believes he is still enjoying his beloved family on a spiritual level now, still touching their lives in a special way. Our large circle of family and friends will miss this quiet, gentle guy whose abundant love for each of us will remain absolutely sacred.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family on Wednesday, October 21, 2026 at Louisiana National Cemetery in Zachary for a graveside service beginning at 1:00 PM.
