Walter Dan Truax

Walter Dan Truax, beloved Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather, passed away on November 1, 2025 at the age of 93. He was born on October 18, 1932 in Egan, Louisiana.

He proudly served his country in the United States marines and later worked as a heavy-duty mechanic and served his community through the Boy Scouts of America. In his free time, Walter enjoyed the great outdoors, where he spent his time camping and hunting.

Walter is survived by his daughter, Daphan Salpietra (Jimmy); his son, Tim Truax (Robin); his grandchildren, Joey Salpietra, Kyle Salpietra, Jamie Salpietra, Jason Fennell, Matthew Fennell, and Erin Fennell Larsen, he is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Joan Truax; his son, Joe Walter Truax; his parents, Joe Walter Truax and Lottie Mixon; his sister, Jobell Barnett; and his brother, Dudley Truax.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Live Oak Church, Watson, LA, on Monday, November 10, 2025 from 9:00 AM until the funeral service at 11:00 AM. The graveside service and burial will follow at Live Oak Church Cemetery.
