Wanda Dedon

Wanda Jean Miller Dedon, aged 76, of Hammond, Louisiana, passed away on September 10, 2025. She was born on March 9, 1949 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Wanda was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, daughter, and friend. Her hobbies included gardening, drinking coffee, fishing, cooking, crocheting, eating snacks, and taking care of others.

She is survived by her daughter, Theresa "ReRe" Stone (Joe); sons, Michael "Mickey" Ortego, Jacob Dedon (Nikki), and Russell Hood (aka nephew); her grandchildren, Tasha Severio (Lee), Joe Stone (Sarah), Brooke Stone, Dustin Dukes (Ashton), Grace Ortego (Tyler), Dilan Mallett, Blaine Price, KC McGrady, Jennifer McGrady, Tiffany McGrady, and Aubrey Grondin (Brad); numerous great-grandchildren, Leland, Karma, Liam, Nathan, Maleah, and Brayden; her sisters, Alice Faye Cormier (Yogi, her confederate brother-in-law), Margret Prine, and Janice Biossatt (John); along with numerous nieces and nephews. Other family and friends include bonus kids Robbie Kent, Michael Lawrence, Josh Bourgeois, Perry Smith, and Tim Porter, and bonus grandkids Jayden, Elliott, and Quinn.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents James and Julia Miller; nephew, James Whittington; sons, John L. Hood (aka nephew) and Paul Ortego, daughter-in-law Shelly Ortego; niece, Brenda Ann Hood; granddaughter, Amber Nicole Howze; and grandson, Brandon McGrady.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Seale Funeral Home, 1720 S. Range Ave., Denham Springs, on Friday, September 19, 2025, from 5pm until the memorial service at 7pm.
