Listen to Obituary

Wilbur Wesley “Will” Hudson, Jr., age 61, of Denham Springs, Louisiana, passed away suddenly on October 28, 2025. Born in Baton Rouge on July 14, 1964, Will was a beloved brother, uncle, and true friend whose genuine humor, loyalty, and kindness touched everyone he met.

Will’s professional life was marked by incredible dedication and a mind built for precision. He earned his Pipefitting and Instrumentation Certification from ITI and was a proud and devoted member of the Local 198 Union for 12 years. Friends often observed that Will was always juggling more stuff than anyone else, noting, “No one worked harder than Will.”

His intelligence, however, was his greatest tool, leading him to a lifetime of varied interests and passions. As one longtime friend shared, Will was “one of the most intelligent people I have ever met, he could talk about virtually anything and everything—from current events and politics to world history and Jesus.” He was known for his natural curiosity and ability to succeed in any field, holding licenses in real estate, insurance, and mortgages, in addition to his trade. He channeled his brilliant, clever mind into creative projects, including operating a knife-making business and building computers.

Will’s generous spirit shone brightest in his friendships and family bonds. He was the ultimate "go to guy" for friends seeking advice on anything from personal problems to car troubles.

Will is survived by his loving sisters, Patricia Rae Cavalier; Tammy Hudson McLin and her husband, Gerald McLin; and Melanie “Candy” Hudson Winkelpleck and her husband, James Winkelpleck. He is also survived by seven nieces, three nephews, and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur W. Hudson, Sr. and Colleen Hudson; his sister, Sandra (Cindy) Hudson; his nephew, Clayton “Clay” Jordan; and two brothers. Will was deeply loved, and his warm heart will be missed and always remembered.
