It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Wilford Lionel Deville Jr. (Pete Jr.) of Walker, La. Born September 9, 1958, Junior died this morning around 5 a.m., surrounded by loved ones at Ochsner Medical in Baton Rouge, La.
Pete Junior was the most kind-hearted, humble, soft-spoken, loyal, and truly the hardest-working man, a true craftsman who built his own home with his wife, something he was always so proud of, and rightfully so. There was nothing he couldn’t do or fix, just like our dad. He always said he loved his wife, Laura from the moment he met her at a small cafe, later marrying her on our parents’ wedding anniversary. He enjoyed LSU tailgating, working on small engines, and spending time with his grandson Patrick since his retirement after a long successful career with Exxon Mobil.
Please keep our family in your prayers, especially our precious mother (Becky), his wife Laura, their daughter Jessica, and his grandson Patrick. We know our dad (Pete) and our oldest sister (Debra Sue) met him at the gates of heaven with open arms.
*Memorial Service will be at Friendship Baptist Church, Pine Prairie, La., November 15, 2025. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with services starting at 2 p.m.
