Wilfred LeRoy Guitreau

Wilfred LeRoy Guitreau, 93 of French Settlement, LA, passed away Friday, April 10, 2026 at his home with his family. We loved the outdoors, training rabbit dogs, and spending time with his family and friends. W. LeRoy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great great-grandfather. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodule and Ida Guitreau; grandson, Damien Thornton, a great-grandson, Chandler Smith, two brothers, Roland Guitreau and Aubrey Guitreau; and brother-in-law, Doug Thornton.

We is survived by his loving wife of 75 years, Evelyn Sanchez Guitreau; children, Latricia Guitreau and husband, Bobby, Wanda Thronton, Phyllis Champagne and Trent; grandchildren, Jason and Chantelle Guitreau, Denee Aydell, Darcie McMorris, Bryce and James Carpenter; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives and dear friends.

Visitation will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 15710 Hwy 16, French Settlement, Thursday, April 16, from 9 a.m. until Celebration of Mass at 11 a.m. by Father Taylor Sanford. He will be laid to rest in St. Joseph Catholic Church Mausoleum immediately following.
