William Earl “Bill” Flowers of Walker, Louisiana, passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2026 at the age of 83. The son of a Baptist preacher, he was born to Robert William Flowers and Sylvia Lillian Buckner Flowers in Tecumseh, Michigan on November 14, 1942.
Bill was a proud veteran, who served in the United States Marine Corps.
Bill was a tradesman with many skills, “a jack of all trades” specializing as an automotive mechanic, moving on to diesel engines, then owning a lawnmower and small engine repair shop in Conway, Arkansas before retiring. He was also a skilled carpenter, welder, and helping at his parents' bakery in his younger days.
Bill enjoyed the outdoors, lake fun and camping with his family and friends at Sugarloaf Mountain in Arkansas. He enjoyed cooking, especially smoking brisket on the grill, a family favorite.
Our Lord honored his child Bill with the privilege of being a Brother, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Cousin, Uncle and Friend to many.
Survived by his children: John Wayne Flowers, Sr., (Debbie); Sheila Ann Flowers-Olps; Regina Annette Sturch Woodward (Greg); Donald Wayne Sturch.
Blessed to be called Pappy by grandchildren: John “Johnny” Wayne Flowers, Jr., (Courtney), Michael Holtman (Lindsey), Frankie Finley (James), Nichole “Nikki” Flowers, Madison Flowers, Chloe Sherrod, Brandon Anderson Sturch (Starr), Kaitlyn Janette Sturch Halsted (Dillon).
Blessings overflowed with cherished great-grandchildren: Emma Holtman and Everett Holtman, Jolene Flowers and Cadyn Beasley, Mackenzie Bush and Deanna Flowers, Natalee Finley, Blakely Sturch, Bentley Sturch and Zaidyn Sturch, and Hallie Kait Halstead.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 23 years Janice Olea Black Flowers; beloved son Earl Ray Flowers; brother Jimmy and his parents.
Celebration of life graveside family service at a later date.
